TRACY COOMBS
Owner/Operator
PCA, Commissioner of Oaths
Tracy, originally from the beautiful fishing town of Port De Grave, saw a need to assist families with their needs as they were making the transition from independence to home support, thus leading to the opening of Coombs Compassionate Home Care Agency on October 1, 2012.
Tracy has many certificates such as Grade 12, 1st Aid/CPR, Mental Health First Aid, Marine First Aid, Computerized Accounting, Home Support/Personal Care Assistant, Word Processing and Basic bookkeeping.
Tracy's caring and compassionate manner stems from being raised with a solid background of love and respect, which put together with her education and training in a Personal Care Attendant course along with her experience in both community and hospital settings, fuelled her passion to open her own agency,
Encouraged by her passion to share her training and knowledge with others, Tracy researched extensively to ensure that when she opened her doors to the community, she was ready for the difficult but satisfying task ahead.
The business started in the basement of Tracy's home with an assistant in the office in Upper Island Cooe. The company quickly outgrew this office and a new location opened in Bay Roberts.
Due to increase in clientele, there was need to provide services in the St. John's and surrounding area so Tracy took the initiative to open an office in Conception Bay South, which services CBS and surrounding areas, an office in Carbonear which services Harbour Grace to Old Perlican as well as Trinity Bay to Whitbourne, an office in Mount Pearl servicing St. John's and surrounding areas and Clarenville servicing Bonivista to Clarenville and Clarenville to Sunnyside.
The company became trademarked and incorporated in July 2015 under the name Coombs Compassionate Homecare Agency Inc. ®™
With home care still very much the focus of the business, the opportunity to participate with Children, Seniors and Social Development (CSSD) providing families in transition with supervised access workers during visits or respite for families became available with re-unification of the family being the future goal. We now offer these services in all our locations.
Tracy and her team always encourage workers to assist their clients in keeping their dignity and independence, while still offering assistance with the daily activities of living.
CCHA's home support/supervised access workers must pass a strict security clearance check, have a resume with 3 references, hold a valid first aid/CPR certificate and be bondable. The company also offers in-house training, provided through a manual which Tracy authored as well as on-line training whenever available and in compliance with standards for enhanced care.
Tracy is also on the board of Directors for the Newfoundland and Labrador Association for Community Living.
At Coombs Compassionate Homecare Agency Inc. ®™ we believe that:
"Whereever Home is...
It's the Best Place To Be".....
